S-Bahn station Potsdamer Platz. If you like to capture extreme contrast and silhouettes, this is my favourite go to location in Berlin. Best during daytime and harsh sunlight. When the sunlight is flooding the station and you stay or sit in the shade inside, people passing by turn into silhouettes against the bright background. The kid image is my favourite from this location. Shot with my Fuji X100F and processed with Snapseed.

berlin’s top 10

To get this one out of the way.
During the first weeks I obviously followed the routes to the touristic landmarks and locations of Berlin.

I my personal opinion these are:

  • Brandenburger Tor
  • Reichstag
  • Regierungsviertel (Government Quarter)
  • Holocaust Memorial
  • Potsdamer Platz

which you can visit in one day easily.

  • Alexanderplatz / Fernsehturm (TV Tower)
  • Berliner Dom
  • Neue Synagoge

can be easily covered in the morning of day 2.

  • Haus der Kulturen der Welt (House of World Cultures)
    (tour 1)
Haus der Kulturen der Welt
Haus der Kulturen der Welt
  • Tempodrom
    (tour 2)

are add-on’s to tour 1 and tour 2.

You can add “Gendarmenmarkt” as #11. But I have to visit this location again. The first time it was gray and raining.

It is worth to visit these locations. But don’t expect to be alone.

Happy and sunny days from Berlin.
